To promote animal protection and animal rights as well as veganism, as ethical, ecological and healthy lifestyle.
The end goal is abolishing speciesism, or any form of abuse, torture and exploitation of animals by people, respecting animal rights and achieving biocentrism and a sustainable way of life for the good of everyone.
In their activities so far, Animal Friends has carried out hundreds of campaigns and activities where it has pointed out animal suffering occurring in the food industry, laboratories, fur farms, and in the hunting and fishing industries. The organization has also educated the public about the problem of abandoning and abusing pets.
Located on a hill above Dubrovnik. We don't have electricity or running water and the shelter is exposed to strong winds and thunderstorms. It is freezing cold in winter and scorching hot in the summer. Yet the dogs are thriving because of our love and care. In addition to the daily running of the shelter, volunteers are working on many animal welfare campaigns. We promote animal welfare, we educate children, organize humanitarian concerts and exhibitions, we promote veganism and protection of farm animals and we advocate a ban on testing on animals, hunting, circuses, zoos etc.
The Bear Refuge project is being run by Velebit association Kuterevo, also know as VUK (what in Croatian means wolf), according to the acronym in Croatian language (Velebitska udruga Kuterevo). The main fundaments of the project are volunteers. Basically, the Bear Refuge Project and the Volunteers’ Station are coordinated by volunteers, among whom some are from Kuterevo, some from Zagreb and some other from abroad. Kuterevo, although small rural community is used to international volunteers, since it has been hosting youth groups from 1978.
Animals don’t recognize borders. But animal exploitation is ingrained worldwide, in our personal lives, politics, economy.
Our work focuses on making the world smaller by networking with other animal organisations thus connecting the dots, and reduce or with time eliminate animal exploitation right at home and everywhere where it happens.

ZeGeVege is part of the international Veganmania event, which takes place in Vienna, Munich, and 15 other European cities, and surpasses other sister festivals in terms of size, the number of exhibitors, and attendance. The time of the Festival coincides this year with the 20th birthday of the organizers, the Animal Friends Association, so be sure to come and invite everyone to join this merry celebration of health, preservation of the planet, and respect for the lives of all beings!

Through its work, ZA wants to contribute to the improvement of environmental protection system at the local, national and global level by encouraging changes through campaigns, non-violent direct action, projects, public participation in decision-making, etc. The aim of their work is to protect the environment and nature, and encourage the development towards a low-carbon society while being guided by the principles of social justice and systemic change. ZA pays close attention to activities aimed at encouraging public participation in decision-making regarding environmental issues and on improving the quality of life in Croatia.
They also share information, experience and expertise in the field of environmental protection to other organizations, individuals, communities, schools, etc. in Croatia and beyond.
Zelena akcija's work is based on the work of volunteers and activists, who are supported by a professional team.
ZA is not related to any political party, and is a member of the largest network of environmental organisations in the world - Friends of the Earth.
This project is a lot more FUN than the name and logo suggest. Includes a space of exchange, a place of connection, and an intellectual polygon for progressive social forces, especially green and new left ones, which are politically in their formative period. In this sense, the Academy’s program seeks to provide basis and context for social action that would not be shaped solely by the reaction to existing irregularities that surround us.
Goal is to educate and activate citizens in the field of nature preservation, improvement of quality of living trough advocacy, promotion and implementation of the ecologically acceptable technologies and sustainable development.
Members of the association began their work with environment cleaning actions, tree planting, biking tours, etc. After few years Green Osijek grew in actions and more significant and long term projects started. Green Osijek is one of the most active environmental associations in Eastern Croatia.

Speaking out on themes such as the unacceptability of planning an energy future based on fossil fuels, maritime domain privatization or coastal area destruction by massive construction of tourist infrastructure.
